As the conscience of the Navy, the Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central (CNREURAFCENT) the Inspector General (IG) serves as an independent and objective advisor to the Regional Commander. The IG mission is to provide value-added support and guidance that will enable management to evaluate the economy, efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity of the administration, operation, and function of the command. Through management and oversight of the Regional Hotline Program, the IG conducts and supervises investigations and inquiries into allegations of administrative wrongdoing by military or civilian members of the command. Through the Managers' Internal Control (MIC) Program, the IG monitors and ensures overall command readiness. In accordance with established internal oversight initiatives, the IG conducts periodic and targeted inspections, evaluations, and assessments designed to prevent and detect waste, misuse, and/or mismanagement of the command's resources throughout its installations, activities, and programs. The IG also serves as a single point of contact for area visits, reviews, and evaluations conducted throughout the Region by external agencies.
