Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC) Detachment Rota

Forward Deployed Regional Maintencance Center (FDRMC) Detachment Rota was established to provide Fleet Support to 4 BMD DDGs homeportd in Rota, Spain. Manned with highly specialized technicians and support personnel, the detachment provides sustainment, fleet technical assistance and voyage repair of naval ships and craft in the FIFTH and SIXTH Fleet areas of responsibility. The detachment provides Distance Support and Fleet Technical Assistance to the ships deployed in the Mediterranean Sea, while a cadre of maintenance professionals provide oversight for the Continuous Maintenance Availabilities (CMAVs) on ships and the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense facilities in Romania and Poland.  In addition, the staff at Naples serve as the headquarters for the FDRMC, providing command and control functions and oversight for the maintenance detachments in Manama, Bahrain and Rota, Spain.
