Captain Aaron Shoemaker

Commanding Officer, NAS Sigonella

Capt. Aaron Shoemaker is a native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He has also earned master’s degrees in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas in 2005 and National Security Strategy from the National War College in 2014.

Commander Daniel Morreira

Executive Officer, NAS Sigonella

Cmdr. Daniel Morreira is a native of Chester, California, and graduated from the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) in Newport, Rhode Island, in 1998. He received his Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship and attended Loyola University in New Orleans, earning a degree in Computer Information Systems and his commission from Tulane NROTC in 2002. Upon completion of flight training at Enid Air Force Base and Naval Air Station (NAS) Whiting Field, Morreira was designated as a Naval Aviator in February 2004. Morreira earned his Executive Master of Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2010.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Markeeta Hardin

Command Master Chief (Acting), NAS Sigonella

Senior Chief Master-at-Arms Markeeta Y. Hardin is a native of Springfield, Tennessee. She graduated from U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, and attended Seaman ATD (Apprenticeship Training) school as an undesignated Seaman in December 2000. Hardin then attend Master-at-Arms “A” School at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, and graduated in June 2002.  In 2022, she graduated from the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and currently serves as Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily.
