The primary mission of the NAS Sigonella Public Affairs Office (PAO) is to provide trusted counsel to leadership; release accurate and timely internal and external information to NASSIG, U.S. and Allied forces, tenant commands, families and stakeholders; and enhance public trust and support through community relations opportunities.

We fulfill our mission by overseeing the dissemination of command information through a variety of mediums, coordinating community relations projects and managing media interest. We operate the base Facebook and Instagram social media pages, and release a weekly All Hands Messages email, which is distributed to all tenant commands and ombudsmen on Thursdays.

The community relations (COMREL) program at NASSIG is one of the most active in the European region and plays a key role in maintaining close ties with NASSIG’s host nation and its citizens. COMREL events typically include volunteer cleanup and language opportunities, and command involvement in local festivals, ceremonies and cultural events.
