Class time/location: Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Fleet and Family Support Center.

The following Monday after your arrival, all active duty and civilian personnel on PCS orders are required to attend ICR.  This week long class will assist you in acclimating to life in Spain and will provide you with necessary information on base services. Also you will take the test for you Spanish Drivers License.  The uniform of the day is required on the first, second and last day for active duty.  Spouses and children over the age of seven are strongly encouraged to attend.  Child care can be arranged through the MWR Child Development Center.  The Fleet and Family Support Center will pay for child care only if arranged through MWR.  Your sponsor can assist you with your child care needs.

If Monday is a U.S. holiday, ICR will begin Tuesday and will be four days in length.

A Field Trip is conducted on Wednesday and Thursday to two local historic towns.  On Wednesday attendees visit the XVI century church, fish market, town hall and the gypsy market in Rota.  On Thursday the trip is either to Jerez (during winter) or Cadiz (during summer).  The trip to Jerez includes a "bodega" tour to learn about the wine business and taste some of their products.  During the eight months of good weather the trip is to Cadiz and there people visit the museum of the Cathedral and enjoy a ferry boat ride along the bay from Cadiz to Puerto de Santa Maria.

Finally, class ends on Friday with a few more pieces of information about traveling in Spain and about base services and activities.
