Public Works Environmental Division is a component of Naval Facilities Command at Camp Lemonnier. The mission of the environmental division of the Public Works Department is to ensure operations at Camp Lemonnier are protective of the environment by ensuring compliance with the appropriate laws and regulations.
These regulations are found in the Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD). The OEBGD covers content such as disposal of hazardous waste generated on Camp, production of safe drinking water, requirements for spill response and solid waste disposal.
The Environmental division also has an outreach program and is continually looking for ways to keep the Camp community informed about the Navy's policy to maintain environmental excellence and prevent pollution.
