Facilities and Resources

Mail

Mail is delivered to Camp Lemonnier with the support of the Military Postal Service Agency (MPSA). MPSA is the Department of Defense organization that acts as an extension of the U.S. Postal Service abroad.

If you are sending a letter or package to a deployed service member at Camp Lemonnier, you must mail it using the U.S. Postal Service. For more information on the MPSA, visit their website at http://hqdainet.army.mil/mpsa/.

Base Exchange

Camp Lemonnier is proud to have Navy Exchange (NEX) facilities to serve the base population. The main Navy Exchange store is centrally located on base. It is a 3,500 square foot outlet offering a variety of items including food, beverages, personal care items, housewares, electronics, and a limited selection of clothing, athletic shoes, tobacco products, and uniform items. The Customer Service area is also available for check cashing and Western Union services.

There is also a NEX CLU-Mart facility located near the CLUs. Other NEX services include a barber shop, beauty shop, gift shop, a tailor and embroidery shop.

Laundry

The Camp has self-service laundry facilities, and a free laundry turn in service with 48-hour turnaround.

Education

Working on advanced educational opportunities and worried about how you will continue while you’re here? Camp Lemonnier has educational counselors available who can help with tuition assistance and DANTES/CLEPS. Available colleges include Central Texas College and the University of Maryland. Distance learning opportunities are also possibilities.

Financial/Check Cashing/ATM/Debit Cards

Navy Federal Credit Union has a full-service branch and two ATMs (located at the Post Office next to the Galley, and in front of the branch office across the street from the main fire station). The CLDJ NFCU branch offers a full range of no-cash services to include savings, checking, IRA, mortgages, pre-approved auto loans, credit cards, refinances, debt consolidation, debit cards, pin/password reset, build/rebuild credit, budgeting, deposit savings bonds, signature guarantee, cashiers checks, temporary checks, domestic and international wires, western union, ACH transfers, and more. NFCU is open during daytime business hours M-F.

Disbursing Office Cash Cage Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday 0830-1100 and 1230-1500
Saturday 12-1500

Cash Cage Services:

E-7 and above can cash checks up to $500 every seven days, and E-6 and below can cash checks up to $250 every seven days. You can also have U.S. Dollars converted to Djiboutian Francs.

Disbursing Main Office Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday 0830-1700
Saturday 12-1700

Eagle Cash cards are available at the disbursing office. There are five kiosks located on Camp and most facilities on Camp accept them.

The NEX accepts ATM/debit cards and will allow up to $50 cash back with purchases.

Medical

Medical and dental care are provided at Seth Michaud Emergency Medical and Dental Facility at Camp Lemonnier. The medical team provides emergent and limited elective surgical care as well as preventive medicine services, physical therapy, pharmacy, laboratory and radiological services. The dental team provides emergency care and dental restoration.

The Camp also has a fire department equipped to respond to medical and property incidents.

Religious Services

Camp Lemonnier offers religious services for various faiths at the chapel. Chaplains are also available for counseling.

Legal Services

Camp Lemonnier is able to provide limited legal services including drafting wills and Powers of Attorney. The Camp legal office can also provide notary service. Preparing an updated will and Power of Attorney prior to deployment is the most effective way to take care of your family while you are away.
