CMDCS Javier Munoz

Command Senior Chief Muñoz was born in Usulután, El Salvador. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, Richmond, CA in June 2001. After attending Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he attended Aviation Machinists Mate “A” school in Pensacola, Florida.

His first assignment was Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light FOUR TWO (HSL-42) “Proud Warriors” where he completed one deployment onboard USS Hawes (FFG-53) and one deployment onboard USS Vicksburg (CG-69) in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Additionally, he earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS) warfare pin. His second tour was at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Site Mayport (AIMD), FL and qualified NAVRIIP/Enterprise AIRSpeed Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt. In September 2008, he reported to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light FOUR FOUR (HSL-44) “Swamp Foxes” in Mayport, FL. While at HSL-44 he deployed to the Central Command Area of Responsibility onboard USS Hue City (CG-66). In November 2011, he reported to Navy recruiting District (NRD) San Francisco in Mountain View, CA where he served as a recruiter at Navy recruiting Station (NRS) Salinas, CA and Leading Petty Officer (LPO) at NRD Santa Cruz, CA.

In January 2015, he reported to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC-8) EIGHT “Eightballers” in Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI) San Diego, CA where he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) and promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 2018. As an Eightballer Chief deployed onboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and a Western Pacific deployment onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71).

Chief Muñoz reported to Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron FIVE ZERO (VRM-50) in January 2020 as a Plank Owner. In June 2022 he was promoted to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. Senior Chief Munoz is currently serving as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania.
 
Senior Chief Muñoz is a graduate of the Command Master Chief & Chief of the Boat class 23070, Senior Enlisted Academy Class 256 “Brown Grizzlies” and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration concentration in Management and a minor in Finances from POST
University, CT.
 
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards); and various unit and personal awards.
