CMDCM (SW) Mitcheal Burgin

Command Master Chief Burgin was born in Decatur, GA, and grew up in Flowery Branch, GA. He graduated from West Hall High School in 1989. Following completion of Recruit Training Command, Basic Enlisted Submarine School, Basic Electronics Rate Training, and Fire Control Technician "A" and "C" Schools, he reported aboard USS OHIO (SSBN 726) (BLUE).

Following his sea tour, he served as an Attack Team Trainer Instructor and Lead Junior Officer Weapons Instructor at Trident Training Facility, Kings Bay, GA, from May 1995 to February 1998. Master Chief Burgin served as Fire Control Division Leading Petty Officer and Leading Chief Petty Officer on board USS RHODE ISLAND (SSBN 740) (BLUE) from February 1998 to May 2003.

He served as Code 700 Department Chief at Trident Refit Facility from May 2003 to June 2006. He then served as Chief of the Boat on board USS RHODE ISLAND (SSBN 740) (GOLD) from October 2006 to June 2010. He has served as the Command Master Chief for Naval Submarine Support Center; Commander Submarine Squadron Sixteen; Naval Submarine Base; and currently for Commander Submarine Group Ten. In July of 2020, Master Chief Burgin reported to Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central and currently serves as Command Master Chief in Naples, Italy. 

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), National Defense Medal (2 awards), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Navy Pistol Expert Medal, Navy Battle "E" award (2 awards), and Navy Rifle Sharpshooter Ribbon.
