The visit marks Rosen’s second to the installation since assuming command of CNREURAFCENT on June 12.
“You are at the tip of the spear, making a difference, keeping our Navy safe and our country safe, and it’s wonderful for me to be out here and see what you’re doing first hand,” said Rosen, addressing NSA Bahrain personnel at an all-hands call.
As part of the visit, Rosen spent time with senior leaders from Royal Bahrain Air Forces, Royal Bahrain Naval Force, Port & Maritime Affairs and U.S. Embassy-Manama. Additionally, he visited Khalifa Bin Salman Port, thanking the leaders and staff for their support of the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group’s visit in August – the first visit by a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier in more than five years.
During the all-hands call, Rosen presented awards to 35 personnel and gave holiday wishes to the entire NSA Bahrain team.
“As we move into the heart of the holiday season, please make sure you take some time for yourselves, look after each other and reflect on everything you’ve accomplished,” said Rosen. “When you’re sitting on your rocking chair 40, 50 or 60 years from now, looking back on your time in the Navy and, in particular, your time at the tip of the spear here in Bahrain - know that you made a difference…and it’s my honor to serve with each and every one of you.”
NSA Bahrain’s mission is to support U.S. and coalition maritime operations throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations by providing security for ships, aircraft and tenants on board NSA Bahrain and assigned detachments.
