Lieutenant Commander Rumments is a native of Richmond, Kentucky, Lieutenant Commander Andrew Rumments earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Eastern Kentucky University in 2010. He graduated from Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in the Navy in January 2014.
His operational assignments include Weapons Officer and Combat Information Center Officer onboard USS DEFENDER (MCM 2) and USS CHIEF (MCM 14), Electronics Material Officer (EMO) on LCS Crew 203 onboard USS CORONADO (LCS 4), and Weapons Officer and Planning and Tactics Officer onboard USS SHILOH (CG 67). He augmented USS HIGBEE (DDG 123) as Future Operations Officer (N5) on the Air and Missile Defense Commander Fly-Away Team during the 2025 NIMITZ Carrier Strike Group (CSG) deployment to 5th and 7th Fleets. Ashore, he served as Freshman Class Advisor for NROTCU Oregon State University.
His military awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards.
