Captain Brian Iber

Captain Brian R. Iber was born to a Marine Corps Aviator in Beeville, TX. He attended the University of North Texas, graduating in 1998 with majors in Political Science and History. He received his commission through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL in May of 1999 and was designated as a Naval Aviator in October of 2000. 

He completed operational assignments flying the P-3C Orion with the Pelicans of Patrol Squadron 45 (VP-45), and deployed to NAS Roosevelt Roads and NAS Sigonella, supporting the War on Drugs and the War on Terror. 

In June of 2004, he reported as an Instructor to Training Squadron TWO TWO (VT-22) at NAS Kingsville, Texas, where he flew the T-45 A and C Goshawk and served as the Assistant Admin Officer, Production Officer, and Schedules Officer, and was a member of the Training Air Wing TWO (TW-2) Instructor Training Unit (ITU). 

CAPT Iber transitioned to the Navy Reserve in April of 2008 and was assigned to the VT-22 Squadron Augment Unit (SAU) in Kingsville, Texas, where he served as the Safety/NATOPS Officer, Operations Officer, and Executive Officer. In 2014, he temporarily returned to active duty to fill the position of the Operations Officer on the Training Air Wing TWO staff. 

His command tours include: Training Squadron TWO EIGHT Squadron Augment Unit (VT-28 SAU), Training Air Wing TWO Reserve Component (TW-2 RCC), Third Fleet Maritime Air Operations Unit Detachment Las Vegas, and the Navy Reserve, Naval Inspector General. 

He holds a Master’s degree in National Security Studies and completed the Naval Command and Staff course with the Naval War College, and the Advanced Joint Professional Military Education course with the Joint Forces Staff College. 

Captain Iber has accumulated over 7,500 flight hours in numerous aircraft, from military trainers to multi-engine ASW aircraft, helicopters, and various civilian models. His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal and various other personal and unit awards.
