Description:
The 81st anniversary of the Cassibile Armistice is a significant occasion to honor the sacrifices made for our freedom during World War II. This solemn event will feature a wreath-laying ceremony to pay tribute to the fallen, attended by distinguished guests, including Siracusa civil and military authorities, various combatant and veteran associations, and representatives from the local community. Signed on September 3, 1943, the Cassibile Armistice marked Italy's surrender to the Allies and its departure from the Axis powers. This pivotal moment required Italy to cease hostilities and allowed Allied forces to use Italian territory, leading to a prolonged campaign to liberate the country and contributing to the eventual defeat of the Axis powers in Europe.
Dress Code: Enlisted Navy personnel are required to wear dress whit es with ribbons. Officers
should wear Summer Whites with ribbons Air Force and Army personnel should wear the equivalent of the Navy's dress code for their respective branches.
