Environmental Support

The award-winning NSA Bahrain Environmental Department is recognized throughout the Navy as a model program.

From conducting regional oil spill conferences to running a top-rate recycling program, the Environmental team is leader in pollution prevention.

NSA Bahrain Recycling Program is self-supportive. Annual recycling proceeds from sale of recyclable materials are approximately $180-200K used to purchase recycling bins, water filling stations, bike racks, provide training to Installation personnel, improve landscaping and support events such as Earth Day clean up.  The program collected an average of 15,000 lbs of aluminum cans, 60,000 lbs plastic, 5,000 lbs empty toner cartridges and 300,000 lbs of mixed paper per year over the past 10 years.

The Environmental Department is located in Building 318 on NSA I (BANZ I) area and is open from 0730–1600 during the workweek (Sat-Thu).

Water Quality Consumer Confidence Report

A Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), also known as annual water quality report or drinking water quality report, summarizes information regarding water sources used (i.e., rivers, lakes, reservoirs, or aquifers), any detected contaminants, compliance, and educational information.  The CCR provides all testing results from January 1 through December 31 and includes information on how they compare to the standards set by regulatory agencies.  The CCR provides valuable information and reflects the Navy’s commitment to providing safe drinking water to service members, their families, and our civilians.
