CDR Myers graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Hawaii Pacific University. He was commissioned in July 1997 through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola and was designated a naval flight officer (NFO) in October 1999.
His operational tours include service with Patrol Squadron (VP) 47, where he qualified as tactical coordinator (TACCO), instructor TACCO, mission commander, weapons and tactics instructor and as NFO NATOPS officer; Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Force Pacific in the Weapons and Tactics Unit as the anti-submarine warfare officer and extended echo ranging subject matter expert; VP-9 as a department head, deploying to Kadena, Japan and serving as the operations officer; and Combined, Joint Task Force Horn of Africa as CJ-5 directorate executive officer. He was the director, Tactical Operations Center Kaneohe Bay, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 2 and completed a tour as executive officer, Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24, Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing.
At sea, he served as a catapult and arresting gear officer aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68).
His shore tours include service on the Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet N-5 staff as a country desk officer for Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Korea, and Russia. Myers is currently assigned as Executive Officer, Naval Air Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida.
