Captain Michael F. Davis

The son of a career naval officer, Captain Davis considers north Florida home.  Enlisting in the Navy in 1988, he served aboard USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (SSN 708) and as an instructor at the Trident Training Facility in Kings Bay, Georgia.  In 1995, Captain Davis was selected to the inaugural class of the Seaman-to-Admiral Program and received his commission.  His subsequent baccalaureate education was completed at Jacksonville University, where he graduated magna cum laude with university honors.

At sea, Captain Davis served as Communications Officer aboard USS Aubrey Fitch (FFG 34) and Administration, Training and Assistant Operations Officer aboard USS Thomas S. Gates (CG 51).  As a department head, Captain Davis served as Operations Officer aboard USS O’Bannon (DD 987) and as Executive Officer of USS Devastator (MCM 6).  He commanded USS Rentz (FFG 46), from 2011 to 2012.

Captain Davis served ashore in the Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate on the staff of Commander, U.S. Strategic Command; on the staff of Commander, U.S. Fifth Fleet; as the plans liaison to U.S. Central Command; as the Deputy Division Chief for Space and Integrated Air and Missile Defense Division, U.S. Pacific Command; and most recently as Commanding Officer of Naval Station Everett, Washington. 


Captain Davis’ personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal, in addition to other individual, unit and campaign awards.
